Whether $200 Million or $82 Million, CFPB’s Consumer Relief is Down
The executive summary of the CFPB's ninth Semi-Annual Report states that enforcement actions in the six months covered by the report totaled $200 million. But Director Cordray's opening message put the figure at $82 million. Whichever it is, it is substantially less than the $5.8 billion in consumer relief reported by the CFPB in its previous Semi-Annual Report. [7/7/16]
