Trump’s Anti-Wells Fargo Tweet Leaves Many Speechless
Pres. Trump's tweet pledging to not only not drop the penalties against Wells Fargo under his acting CFPB director appointee, but to perhaps even substantially increase fines and penalties, has generated a chorus of silence. Trade associations are hesitant to antagonize a president whose regulatory agenda they support, the Democrats don't want to defend the president, and the bank itself has remained quiet.
