Several groups are asking the FCC to grant a 30-day comment-period extension on a rulemaking petition that they say would "prevent consumers from receiving important communications. The petition would reverse the FCC's interpretation that those who knowingly release their telephone numbers have given consent to be called under the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA).
