Questions have been coming in from credit unions about several fees under the Military Lending Act (MLA), specifically, fees for returned payments, late payments, and some transaction charges. The MLA allows credit unions to exclude some fees from the 36% military annual percentage rate (MAPR) cap, but we'll focus on other possible finance charges that could be excluded in the MAPR calculation.
