Small Banks Disappearing Faster
In 2003, there were 3,255 of the smallest banks, those with $100 million in assets or less, making up more than 43% of all community banks. But by 2014, that number had shrunk to 1,919 banks, making up less than a third of community banks. What's more, they're disappearing at a faster clip, even since just 2011. [8/15/16]
