The US Treasury and HUD have recently made changes to the Making Home Affordable (MHA) program that will better assist homeowners still struggling to recover from the financial crisis. The program now provides for additional mortgage assistance to homeowners that stay current on their payments, including more government repayment of principal and lower fixed mortgage rates.
