OCC to Banks on Small Dollar Lending: Consumers Need You
OCC encourages national banks to offer responsible short-term, small-dollar installment lending to help meet the credit needs of their customers. Speaking of the $90 billion per year market of $300 to $5,000 loans to make ends meet, the Comptroller said "consumers should have more choices that are safe and affordable, and banks should be part of that solution."
