NCUA Open to Further Dialogue on Extended Exam Periods
Responding to a letter from Dan Berger, CEO of NAFCU, NCUA Director of Examination and Insurance, Larry Fazzio, stated that there could be advantages to extending the exam cycle to 18 months for certain low risk credit unions. He added that more dialogue would be needed to address workforce management needs, data and modeling capabilities, and new technologies and techniques to improve the AIRES examination platform.
