It’s Official: The CFPB Owns Rulemaking for 14 Consumer Protection Laws
Since Dodd-Frank transferred to the CFPB the rulemaking authority for 14 federal consumer financial protection laws, such as ECOA, TILA, RESPA, and HMDA, back in 2011, the CFPB has been doing so under an interim final rule. The rule is now final, in case you were wondering. [4/28/16]
