The Department of Justice reached a settlement with Charter Bank of Corpus Christi, Texas over alleged claims that the bank used discriminatory practices in its lending. As part of the settlement the bank will pay $165,000 to victims of the alleged discrimination. This should be a reminder that these laws aren't to be taken lightly.
