
Identity Theft Toppled from 15-Year Reign as Top FTC Complaint
Even though identity theft complaints to the FTC surged 47% this past year, it has been overtaken as the top consumer complaint, a position it has held for the past decade and a half. Dethroning identify theft as the top complaint is debt collection. The sharp rise in complaints overall is due in part to the capacity to submit complaints via a mobile app from a data contributor.
