FinCEN Cracks Down on All-Cash Deals in Six Cities
Individuals who use shell companies to pay cash for high-end residential real estate in select markets will no longer be able to remain anonymous, under FinCEN's new Geographic Targeting Orders. Such all-cash luxury purchases of properties by a legal entity are seen as highly vulnerable to money laundering. The six metropolitan areas are New York City, Miami, Los Angeles, San Francisco, San Diego, and San Antonio. [7/28/16]
