The Internet Crime Complaint Center has issued an alert about an increase in DDoS attacks based on increasing reports from businesses that they have been subject to ransom demands. In a typical situation, a targeted business will receive an email that threatens a DDoS attack unless a ransom is paid, usually in Bitcoin. [8/4/15]
