Here's how Commercial Recovery Systems in Texas would go after debt, according to the Department of Justice: collectors called consumers falsely claiming to be attorneys or judicial employees, falsely stated that lawsuits had already been filed against consumers and offered to settle out of court, left voicemail messages falsely representing that failure to return the call would result in a waiver of rights, and told consumers their wages, taxes and 401(K) plans would be garnished.
