The CFPB will be releasing its proposal on debt collection at a hearing scheduled for the end of July. Although CUNA has met with the CFPB multiple times, and the CFPB told the association that any debt collection proposals will not include changes that will impact first-party creditors, rule-making relief is still not guaranteed.
