Court: CFPB’s Structure Unconstitutional, But…
A federal appeals court ruled that the CFPB's structure was unconstitutional. While some had hoped that such a finding would push the agency closer to being shut down, the court offered a far simpler remedy: give the president the power to fire the agency's director at will, similar to the power the power the president has over the head of the Department of Justice or the Department of Treasury.
