CFPB Releases Top 3 Fair Lending Violations

The CFPB released its fourth Fair Lending Report to Congress.  It contains the fair lending activities for the 2015 calendar year, including a list of the most frequently cited Reg. B violations. At the top are: 1) discrimination on a prohibited basis in a credit transaction; 2) improperly requesting information about an applicant's race, color, religion, national origin, sex, marital status, or source of income; and 3) improperly considering the prohibited bases in evaluating applicant credit worthiness.
