CFPB Headed to its First Jury Trial
The CFPB sued Nationwide Biweekly Administration, in Xenia, Ohio, for allegedly making misleading claims about a program to help consumers pay off their mortgage faster and reduce interest payments. The company alleges that the CFPB's actions led to its downfall by naming its four bank partners in its court filings, which led them to sever relations with the company in an "Operation Choke Point" style. The case is set to go to jury trial in April. [2/23/17]
