CFPB and U.S. Department of Labor on Capitol Hill
In the perspective of CUNA's chief advocacy officer, Ryan Donovan, the CFPB has not used its statutory exemption authority as fully as it could, thus prompting a testimony of the CFPB's Director Richard Cordray. U.S. DOL Secretary Thomas Perez is also scheduled to testify before the house regarding proposals on fiduciaries and overtime pay, both of which could pose significant regulatory burdens on credit unions.
