Cautionary Tale: How Not to Repossess Servicemembers’ Cars
Department of Justice is going after a Michigan credit union for repossessing servicemembers' cars without seeking to determine their military status or securing the necessary court orders. The complaint highlights the illegal repossession of an Army private's car, including his two-year-old daughter's car seat, out of his driveway. The soldier was away at military training at the time, leaving his wife unable to get to work without the vehicle. [7/27/16]
