Bigger the Bank, Bigger the Overdraft Fee Hike
Tight profit margins on lending have banks raising overdraft fees. Banks over $10 billion raised overdraft fees an average of 50 cents from March to June, whereas banks with $100 million to $1 billion hiked fees an average of 2 cents. The CFPB is expected to begin writing rules for overdraft fees later this summer. [7/12/16]
