Acting Chief of OCC Handcuffed by Multiple Conflicts of Interest
As a private lawyer, the new acting chief of the OCC had many clients that his new employer now regulates. As a result, he will need to recuse himself from issues involving 14 big banks, such as JPMorgan Chase & Co., Bank of America Corp., Goldman Sachs Group Inc. and Citigroup Inc. “How can he possibly do his job when he can’t regulate these entities?” [6/13/17]
