Unsurprisingly, the Department of Justice under Trump has reversed its position in the case between PHH and the CFPB. But PHH is pressing for a complete dismantling of the CFPB, whereas the DOJ's most recent amicus brief only supports the striking of the provision that only allows the removal of the director "for cause."
